Congratulations on a Marvellous Mid-Year Show

A BIG thank you  to our amazing VPC community for creating such a successful mid-year show. Check out these adorable photos of our dancers –  I will be uploading more photos as they become available onto the VPC Family Facebook Group, so be sure to add yourself and keep an eye out. They all looked so charming in their dance outfits! I have loved seeing a lot of dancers continuing the show dress code in classes.

If you wish to purchase the video recording of the show – There will be a link available for download in the next coming weeks. Perfect for holiday viewing. I could not stop smiling when I got to watch it all back after the show (which is saying something, as usually I just see mistakes!). Video link will be $8.00 and you can purchase here.

An additional thank you to volunteers we had on the day: Nicola, Michelle, Charmaine, Rebecca, Joanna, Sue, Katie and Karmenne. I’m sure there were a few others that helped with chairs and the chaos, so many thanks to EVERYONE that lent a hand. We wouldn’t be able to run these events without you.

If any one has any feedback about the show please feel free to add a comment at the bottom of the newsletter! Things that we did well, and things that you think we could improve on (I’ve got about 100 ideas so it will help me prioritise things I have probably already considered).

I would really appreciate if you could read the following to your dancer:

“I am so incredibly proud of your enthusiasm and bravery performing at the VPC Mid-Year Show. You were incredibly professional and well behaved which resulted in a well-run event. I admire your team work and support, thank you for helping your friends. It was so cool to see how much improvement your hard work has created. I can’t wait to see you all in costume under our colourful lights at the end of year show! Love Miss Tess”

Need more information?

The annual in-house exams are non-compulsary but are a great goal for your dancer to work towards. They will perform their Mid-Year show dance in front of an examiner by themselves, as well as graded exercises which will build confidence, skill and technique. They will wear their VPC uniform which most of our families already own. If your dancer does not own a uniform, please purchase as soon as possible to ensure they have practiced in the required outfit and shoes. There are also hire options available.

The dancers are learning syllabus from COM Dance, RAD and Acrobatic Arts. Eventually we will host these organisations for exams however we will need enough entrants to do so. For now our in-house exams provide a professional yet easy going way for your dancer to attain this experience.

Exams will cost:

One exam per student = $45
Two exams per student = $75
Three exams per student = $120
Four exams per student = $150

They will receive special practice videos via the jackrabbit portal. An exam practice chart. A certificate and rosette for their efforts and even more importantly a feeling of accomplishment and pride. Highest marking students will also be given special mentions at our end of year awards. Dedicated students who complete their practice card will go into the draw to win a “performance package” valued at $400 (this includes 5 private lessons, practice videos and music editing; for a competition ready stage routine).

Your dancer, if deemed ready for exams, will be invited to participate. These should be delivered at the start of August along with practice cards. You are more than welcome to book private dance lessons in the lead up to exams to assist your dancer’s preparation.

RSVP for exams is the 28th of August.

UPDATE FOR NEW PERFORMANCE GROUP:

Dancers between 8-12 year old will be invited to participate in this exciting opportunity, however if you are interested please let us know.

We will put a small team together to learn some new choreography that will be performed at the end of year show and hopefully at a few competitions in 2023. In October/November there will be additional rehearsals for this select group. We will also be rehearsing before events in 2023.

There will be a one-off yearly fee for rehearsals, and costume hire. There will be additional costs for competition entry, rehearsals, and costume hire in 2023.

Any additional questions? Please email admin@victoryperformancecentre.com.

Physiotherapy and Equipment Pilates

My physio and pilates rooms are ready to go! I’ve had a little help from my Mum, Jody who you may have seen helping at the mid year show as well as around the hall, to set up the studio at the Black Sheep Space on 21 Plummers Point Road.

I am now able to offer ACC and Private Physiotherapy sessions and your support is SO appreciated. I will be taking physio and pilates appointments from the 8th of August!

I gained my Physiotherapy Degree from the Australian Catholic University in the year 2013. I have practiced for the last 9 years as a registered Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in private practices in Brisbane, Australia, Auckland and Tauranga, New Zealand. I have provided physiotherapy services to national touring theatre companies at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre for musicals “Anything Goes” and “Strictly Ballroom” and international performers at the Civic Theatre in Auckland for the musical “Book of Mormon”.

If you are in need of directed exercise prescription or injury management and assistance you can arrange an appointment via the link below.
Or get in touch via email or text: 02040806027

RESELL YOUR DANCE GEAR!

We have started a second-hand sale system. This is a great way to sell off shoes and uniform items that your dancer has outgrown or no longer needs.

As a guide when selling items, we have a form to fill in with all the information about your dancegear. You decide on the price for what you want to sell. You will be notified once your items have sold and the amount will be added to your JackRabbit portal as credit upon sale.

Forms will be available from the hall/studio, where you can drop your items off. This will allow the new owner to try things on with ease!

Buyers can sort through the secondhand draw and if they see something they like, they will add their details to the form, place it in the communications box and the cost will be added to their Jackrabbit Portal.

AND FIND YOUR LONG LOST ITEMS…

Firstly, just a reminder to please NAME ALL ITEMS (including, shoes, clothing and water bottles) that you bring to dancing.

We have accumulated quite the collection over the year and it is time for the pile of lost property to go home. Please have a look through the bucket next time you’re at the hall. I havae also uploaded a photo of items collected on the family facebook group. All items not collected by the 21st of AUGUST will be donated to charity.

MID YEAR HOLIDAYS

Over the last few years, like most during these times, I have been very limited in travel. Now the borders have opened, Dave (my partner) and I have decided to go and see family for the first time in three years.

I have recorded a few videos for the kids to pracitce over school holidays (11th-24th July) if they wish as well as arranged a wonderful teacher, Miss Katie (see below) for the first two weeks back in class (from the 25th of July). Miss Evelyn will take Wednesday classes as normal and Tamar will be helping our parents with questions etc as per usual.

I will be sure to keep in touch via the Family Facebook Page and will miss teaching whilst I am gone. I am sure to come back feeling refreshed with even more energy! Happy Holidays everyone x
