AN UPDATE FROM MISS TESS

Welcome to our June edition of the Victory Performance Centre Newsletter for 2024!

Hi, VPC friends and family

We are into term two and almost half way through the year. How is that possible!

This term we are working on our mid-year exam syllabus and towards our mid-year show where we get to showcase what we’ve learned in a relaxed environment to our friends and family.

Finally thanks to everyone that made my wedding day so special by taking part in our own ‘mini’ dance off. It truly added some extra magic to the day and helped calm a few nerves. I am so grateful for your support and all the beautiful kind words and patience while we juggled things around a bit with classes in the lead up to and after my wedding.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any concerns or feedback or even just a friendly ‘Hello’!  I am always more than willing to chat, so please do not hesitate to contact me via email at admin@victoryperformancecentre.com at any time.

EXAM PREPARATION

This term, we begin our preparation for examinations. Exam invites will be going out shortly!

Exams are currently in-house and promote and encourage exposure to dance formalities. The dancers learn syllabus exercises from international organisations, such as The Commonwealth of Dance, The Royal Academy of Dance, and the Acrobatic Arts.

Those participating in exams perform in front of a dance professional, who will provide them with positive and constructive feedback through an exam report. Successful students will also receive a certificate and rosette for their efforts.

Please note that exams are not compulsory at VPC. We encourage families to talk with their child about participating. While we would love to see our dancers partaking in exams, we understand each dancer is an individual, and the decision is made by parents and dancers together. If you need more clarification, we are happy to have a discussion to answer any questions or queries.

Dates to Note:
Exam Invites – Week of 10th June
Exam Workshops – Week of 15th July (classes 2nd week of school holidays)
Mock Exams -24th August
Exams – 7th September

ll dancers are welcome at the exam workshops, regardless of exam participation. If you are unable to attend exam workshops, you may opt for private lessons instead. Private one-on-one sessions are a great way to build your students, confidence in the lead up to an exam.
If your dancer would like to participate, but is unavailable for the dates above, just let us know.
Please email Tess anytime: admin@victoryperformancecentre.com

MID YEAR SHOW

Not long to go!!
Next weekend we have our Mid Year Show – “I Feel Like Dancing”.
Our mid-year is a way to recognise the hard work and dedication of students during the first half of the year and provides a demonstration of their syllabus dances. This is a low key event with students just wearing class uniform and always a heap of fun! With busy families and sometime hectic schedules, we understand how precious time is so our aim is to keep the showcase a stress free event.

The mid-year show is also a way to boost confidence in preparation for exams and the end of year show. Dancers will perform their exam syllabus dancers for friends and family in their class group.

Click the handbook image to access the info document for ALL times and links required.

2024 VPC TROUPE

Congratulations to our 2024 VPC troupe for their debut performance at the Gillian-Moore competitions in April. They did such a fantastic job competing in a big section, coming away with a highly commended award. It was so great to see such a positive attitude, and their love of performing shine on stage!

The VP team will be performing their two dances at the midyear show, as well as the Velocity competition in August.
